Alex Langan couldn’t be more proud or excited to join his father at Langan Financial Group LLC, focusing on serving the planning needs of the community.
Alex’s background as an attorney with expertise in estate and legacy planning is a great asset to the firm. He’s experienced in business succession planning – both as an advisor and as the newest member of a multi-generational family business. Alex also has expertise on applications of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) as a result of his research and analysis of ERISA fiduciary liability, and he can work with local business owners on competitive benefit plans that help them attract and retain talented, loyal employees.
Alex earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University, where he was a standout student – an Academic All American – and captain of the track and field team. He then graduated cum laude from Widener University School of Law. During his tenure as an attorney, Alex held a position as Assistant Council for the Governor’s Office of the Budget. He also clerked for the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
While he enjoyed serving the community with municipal work, Alex realized that he had a strong desire to join his father in the family business. As a financial professional, Alex could not only make a real difference in people’s lives by helping them achieve a secure financial future, but he could also work with his dad, the perfect mentor, and continue their 100-year presence in the community as a well-known and trusted financial services company.
Alex is involved with several industry organizations, including the Dauphin County Bar Association, the Cumberland County Bar Association, a founding member of the Hill Society, and the James S. Bowman American Inn of Courts. He’s an active volunteer with the Wills for Heroes Foundation, an organization that provides legal documents free to our nation’s first responders. Alex loves spending time at home with his wife Sarah, and their sons, Rory and Patrick – who just might become the fifth generation of financial professionals to join Langan Financial Group LLC.

Early in his career, while working as a trust officer at a bank, Robert J. Langan Langan got some advice on financial strategies from an elderly widow that has stayed with him ever since (“She was a really sweet lady,” he recalls). “Spend a little, save a little,” was what she said. Robert J. Langan believes that’s a sound approach to use for helping his clients with comprehensive, understandable financial plans that will last for their lifetimes. Because he’s seen first-hand what can happen to people who run out of money when they stop working, Robert J. Langan has made it his mission to help his clients plan appropriately so their income is protected during working years and their savings will last through a long, comfortable retirement.
As he works with individuals on their ongoing financial planning, Robert J. Langan sees his role as that of an educator; keeping his clients up-to-date with relevant information and continuously enhancing and expanding the services he can offer through his own education and experience. Retirement planning is especially important to Robert J. Langan – he often refers to a “three-legged stool” approach incorporating Social Security, pensions and personal savings as critical to a secure retirement. Because of his many years of experience, Robert J. Langan’s services and skills as a planner are valuable to individual and business owners in helping them protect their incomes should the unexpected occur. He can help design and implement retirement plans, along with helping individuals, business owners, executives, and employees understand and maximize their benefits, and advise people who may not have had the opportunity to do any financial planning at all.
Throughout his college undergraduate years, while he was earning a degree in Business Administration, Robert J. Langan worked for a local bank, and was later invited to become a trust officer. It was there that he became aware of two things: one; that people could get into serious trouble from out-of-control finances (ask him about his time as a repo man) and two; that he really enjoyed helping those people – especially seniors – get out of trouble by planning appropriately so they could have some hope for a financially secure future. When Robert J. Langan left the bank for a career in personal financial services, he chose to focus on and expand his work with individuals and business owners on their protection strategies, pensions, retirement planning and employee benefits.
As a financial planner, Robert J. Langan’s industry achievements are impressive. He’s a graduate of the Pennsylvania Bankers Central Atlantic School of Trust at the University of Bucknell. He has earned a number of professional designations, including Accredited Investment Fiduciary, Certified 401(k) Professional, Certified in Long Term Care, and Certified Family Business Specialist. Since 1995, he is a Life and Qualifying Member of the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table. Robert J. Langan is active in his community, currently serving as a member of the Professional Advisors Council on the Foundation for Enhancing Communities, past Committee Chair of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 51, and a board member – a past president as well – of the Eagle Foundation, Cumberland Valley School District. He’s also an active volunteer at many local community events, schools, and senior centers.
Outside of work, Robert J. Langan is a devoted family man to his wife Pat (happily married since 1979!), sons John, Alex and Devin and their families. They enjoy an active lifestyle of outdoor recreation and travel.
Since joining the team in 1994, Chris has been dedicated to working with clients on their insurance and protection plans, and supporting the practice in a variety of ways. She is a certified para-planner and helps prepare documents and update files for client review meetings, along with attending to clients’ services needs. For Chris, it really goes beyond just paperwork; it’s rewarding to know that she plays a hand in helping to provide protection and peace of mind for each and every client she works with, now and in the future. Chris resides in New Cumberland with her husband Sean and their two daughters, Morgan and Paige. Chris and her family love to travel and try to spend as much time as possible at the family’s vacation cabin at Deep Creek Lake, Maryland.
From the time Pat began working with her husband Bob Langan in 1979, she has been a valued member of the Langan Financial Group LLC. Pat ensures that each and every client is treated with white-glove service. From when an appointment is booked, to when a client walks in the office for a meeting, Pat expedites all of our client’s needs. When asked what she loves most about her job, she will tell you that it is the opportunity to work with such wonderful people every day. Additionally, Pat handles all client communications and all of the firm’s marketing initiatives. Outside of the office, Pat and Bob take advantage of every chance to spend time with their new grandchildren, Rory, Evan and Patrick.
